Why we built it

Why was Choose Health started?

We started Choose Health in 2018 after watching too many people, friends and family included, try to get easy access to their biomarkers and run into a wall of copays, referrals, and memberships.

What problem is Choose Health solving?

Functional medicine was supposed to put people in charge of their own health. Somewhere along the way it became something you needed thousands of dollars and a referral to access.

Our mission is to empower one million people to improve at least one marker of internal health, so we built a better way.

Founder & CEO

Mark founded Choose Health with a belief that health data should be accessible, understandable, and actionable. After more than two decades building healthcare technology companies, he saw firsthand how difficult it can be for people to access the information they need to make informed decisions about their health. Today, he leads Choose Health's mission to make high-quality biomarker testing more convenient, affordable, and useful for everyday health optimization and preventive care.

Matthew McDermott

Diagnostic Product Sales Specialist

Matthew holds a Master's degree in Diagnostics & Precision Medicine and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Matthew is passionate about delivering a testing experience that is both scientifically rigorous and easy to navigate. Matthew is passionate about helping consumers and healthcare practitioners access the biomarkers that matter most, and is continually exploring new ways to expand Choose Health's testing capabilities to better serve a wider range of health goals.

Claire Gallaudet

Growth Marketing

Claire leads Growth Marketing at Choose Health, helping more people access the tools and information they need to take a proactive approach to their health. A marathon runner and yoga instructor, she is personally passionate about longevity, prevention, and healthy aging. She enjoys translating complex health topics into practical next steps that make long-term health goals feel more achievable.

Austin Walker

Product Management

Austin brings years of experience building healthcare technology products across telehealth, healthcare SaaS, and patient-centered digital platforms. He focuses on creating intuitive experiences that help people better understand their health and navigate their care with confidence. He believes technology should make healthcare feel simpler, not more complicated.

James Dawson

Business Development

James recently completed his Master's degree in Finance and focuses on building partnerships that expand access to biomarker testing and preventive health solutions. He is particularly interested in how emerging technologies, including AI, can help make healthcare more accessible, personalized, and actionable for more people.
