Simplify Your Health Plan With Our At-home Liver Test

Being proactive about your liver health can enhance your overall well-being and quality of life. Choose Health offers an at home liver test to help monitor your liver's condition and take the best course of action. Here’s how our test can simplify your health plan:

We Test Key Markers of Liver Health

Here are the markers we use to evaluate liver health and identify potential liver disease:

Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT)

ALT is an enzyme mainly found in the liver. We measure the level of this enzyme in the body to determine whether there’s a liver issue. Cell damage in the liver can cause the enzyme to leak into the blood. If this happens, our test can show high ALT levels, necessitating lifestyle changes or medical attention.

Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST)

AST supports amino acid metabolism in the liver. The optimal AST level is 0-45 U/L. Higher than normal AST levels can indicate liver problems as the enzyme is released into the blood when liver cells are damaged.

AST: ALT Ratio

We can compute the ratio between ALT and AST enzymes to assess your liver health further. An optimal ratio will range between 0-1:1. Elevated ratios can indicate liver damage.

Gamma-glutamyl Transferase (GGT)

GGT is an enzyme also found in liver cells. It helps with the metabolism of toxins and drugs. We test GGT as high levels in the blood can indicate liver problems.

Blood Sugar

We test the average glucose (blood sugar) level in the blood using the hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) test. High blood sugar levels may indicate diabetes. Diabetes can raise one’s risk of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), a condition where excess fat builds up in the liver.

Inflammation

We test for inflammation in the body using a high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) test. CRP is a protein produced by the liver in response to inflammation. High protein levels can indicate inflammation in various parts of the body. We test this marker along with the rest to determine if there’s inflammation in the liver.

We Work With Professionals

We only work with CLIA and CAP-accredited laboratories to test the above markers. These are the same labs your regular physician would use, so you can rest assured you’ll get accurate test results. You only have to mail a blood sample to us, and we’ll send you your test results conveniently on your mobile phone.

We Educate Clients

Choose Health educates clients about their markers to help them make more informed decisions. You can expect advice on how to improve your markers along with your results if they’re not within the optimal range.

We can also help you track your health by showing how your markers progress over time. This can show you whether your newly-implemented measures are improving your health.
